Why does the purchase and sale price of cryptocurrencies never match exactly what is shown in the preview?
Why does the purchase and sale price of cryptocurrencies never match exactly what is shown in the preview?
Updated over a month ago

The buying and selling prices of cryptocurrencies on Goin, like on other platforms, are determined by market supply and demand:

  • The buying price is based on market demand.

  • The selling price is based on supply.

The price displayed on our charts is the average between the buying and selling rates, also known as the "spread": the difference between the prices sellers ask for and the offers buyers make.

⚠️ The average tends to be quite close to what you'll find when you buy or sell. But it will never be exactly the same. ⚠️

The key point is that, on any platform:

  • The buying price will always be higher.

  • The selling price will always be lower.

This happens simply because these are the prices dictated by the market and the laws of supply and demand.
